Principle
This website is deliberately built to be frugal. It sets no cookies, embeds no fonts, maps or videos from third-party servers, uses no analytics or tracking tools and contains no contact form. No profiling and no automated decision-making take place.
Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted with Hostinger. The provider is Hostinger Operations, UAB, Švitrigailos str. 34, LT-03230 Vilnius, Lithuania, which processes the data on my behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
When the site is accessed, the hosting provider automatically collects information that your browser transmits and stores it in what are known as server log files. These typically comprise: IP address, date and time of access, name and URL of the file retrieved, volume of data transferred, notification of successful retrieval, browser type and version, operating system and the page previously visited (referrer).
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless operation and the security of the website. This data is not combined with other data sources and is not used to identify you personally. The log files are deleted automatically after a short period.
Content delivery network
Hostinger's content delivery network is used to deliver the site more quickly, serving content from servers geographically closer to you. This is the same processor as for the hosting; no additional data is transmitted to third parties. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
Encryption
For security reasons this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise this by the address bar of your browser beginning with https:// and by the padlock symbol. Data you transmit to this website cannot be read by third parties.
Contact by email
If you write to me by email, I process your details solely in order to deal with your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where a contractual or employment relationship is being initiated. I do not pass this data on without your consent and delete it once the matter is concluded, unless statutory retention periods require otherwise.
Your rights
You have the right of access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and a right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. Please use the address above.
Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Schwerin, Germany.
Changes
I will amend this privacy policy if the legal situation or the operation of this website changes. The version published on this page applies.
